This week, Exxon Mobil, the world’s biggest oil company, announced that it would explore the deep waters of Sulu for oil. Is there a parallel between the US war in Iraq and the “war on terror” America is waging in Sulu? After all, Exxon is among the top US oil companies that sought to control Iraqi oil after the fall of Saddam Hussein.
