The Arroyo administration has resorted once again to one of the oldest tricks in its deception book: scare people from attending gatherings and rallies against the regime by invoking so-called “terror threats.” This time, authorities disclosed a supposed plot to bomb Davao City.

But I’m wondering: If the plot was indeed true, why did the Air Force disclose it? And why, based on the media reports, was Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City, who is also the counter-terrorism adviser of Arroyo, left out of this?
