Suspected Gov’t Agents Shoot, Abduct Moro from Tagum

Kelly Delgado, Karapatan secretary-general denounced this latest state sponsored attack “this incident is latest abduction on the victims and attack to the moro people as a whole who always been the target by the state of their state sponsored terrorism especially here in Mindanao”

The Abduction of Rahman Camili is the second incident. In April 2003, he was abducted by the military intelligence group, according to his sister, for being one of the suspected bombers of the Sasa Warf, Davao City incident. Days after, he was detained in Maa City Jail, in Davao City. The court dismissed the case of Rahman Camili for lack of evidence and merit of the case. In 2004, in Ecoland bombing incident Mr. Camili was again falsely accused by the military as one of the suspected bombers.

Truly, the GMA regime has employed dirty tricks by misrepresenting Moro people and maliciously imputing intrigues against them and their principles and pinpointing them as “terrorists” who were responsible for the bombings happening in Mindanao to cover up for the state sponsored terrorism. This is another desperate move of the Arroyo government to silence the people especially her political opponents.

The Arroyo regime continues to unleash cold-blooded elements from the AFP to harass, abduct and kill leaders and members of legitimate organizations.

The Arroyo regime is cloaked with blood as Arroyo herself is legalizing repression and harassment by pushing the passage of Anti-Terrorism Bill and the continued Balikatan joint military exercises in Mindanao and in our country through the Visiting Forces Agreement. Given the escalation of political repression, the people now seek redress and demands justice for all the victims of human rights violations.ÿÿÿ

According to Karapatan, this was the second time that Camili was abducted. In April 2003, he was taken by the Military Intelligence Group on suspicion of involvement in that year’s bombing of the Sasa Wharf. A Davao court dismissed the case against Camili for lack of evidence. He was again implicated in the 2004 Ecoland bombing but that, too, was dismissed by the court. Karapatan said Camili was falsely accused each time. Read this story Filed under: STORIES, Blog                              [...]
