Hunger Still Highest in Mindanao – SWS Survey
In its latest survey on hunger, the Social Weather Stations said hunger has reached a new record high throughout the country. “The proportion of families experiencing involuntary hunger at least once in the past three months reached a new record-high of 19.0%, or an estimated 3.3 million households, according to the final 2006 Social Weather Survey, last November 24-29,” it said.
A curious thing in the survey is that hunger in Mindanao only rose by one percent, compared to past surveys that indicated incidence of hunger is highest in the region.
