The new traffic light system implemented in Davao City this week has created monstrous traffic jams, according to a report in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The new system, which synchronizes the traffic lights in intersections, has resulted in longer travel time, according to the report. “If this would go on for a few more days, I’ll quit driving,” the paper quoted a jeepney driver as saying. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has since suspended the new system.
