MANILA — The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and the ANAKPAWIS party list group raised a howl and expressed their dismay on the apparent feet dragging of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) on the electioneering cases they filed against the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and high officials of the Macapagal-Arroyo regime while railroading cases against them.
According to Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary general of KMP and ANAKPAWIS party list nominee, “we are beginning to think that the COMELEC itself is part of the conspiracy of the Macapagal-Arroyo regime to eliminate us from the party list elections and have their henchmen take over the party list system. We have provided solid proof of our case and now we have also exposed the anomaly of the regime’s front party list groups through the memo the Office of the External Affairs, these are airtight cases while the paid hacks of the regime filing harassment case against us have noting but incoherent hearsay,”
“We have pointed to the COMELEC at the video showing the AFP’s urban deployment campaigning against us, now we have presented this memo which proves that Gloria has a direct hand in funding and supporting fake party list groups. These cases can readily be settled and justice served if there is real political will behind the COMELEC and if it does not let itself be pressured by Malacanang in deciding on its favor,” added Marbella.
“We hope that the commission can issue a decision on our complaint at the soonest time possible and preferably weeks before the election to prevent confusion and so that it would not become moot and academic. The military presence in the urban communities must immediately be stopped and those behind the fake party list must also be punished,” said the peasant leader.
“All that we are asking for is a fair shake on these cases and for the COMELEC to stand up against Malacanang’s pressure. We are asking the commission to fulfill its mandate and protect the real voice of the people and not be part of the Macapagal-Arroyo regime’s scheme to subvert it,” ended Marbella. Davao firms to issue warning on closures, retrenchments

July 21st, 2007 at 9:10 pm
i have this question in mind of why is the davao comelec always have their(staff/officers/and watsoever) “bulok na sistema” for the voter’s registration…. aren’t they guilty of the agony they brought to the people?!!! what kind of a PUBLIC servant are they? knowing that the office is a public agency. people whose working in that office MUST do their job accordingly… to what they are ought to be…. don’t they know how to be a public servant? ..damn.. people pay taxes for them….the kind of system they have is a failure in our city and also a SHAME…. !!!!! i hope that sooner or later they could change that “bulok” system… a lot of people suffer, got sick, and burnt out from the heat of the sun just for making a very long line to have their numbers and forms(req.for registration)?!!! and then in the end they would just say that no more forms and they’ll give numbers later or the next day after they served only less than a hundred out of more than 5 (FIVE) hundred people… and they just say to come back?!!!! 4 wat?!!! to form a new very long line? how long are they going to make the people to go back there everyday in a week but in the end, they are not able to register!…. I myself will say that the 2007 election is a FAILURE……. please do hear this agony…thank you…..
