(Washington, D.C.) Native American and Alaska Native women in the United States suffer disproportionately high levels of rape and sexual violence, yet the federal government has created substantial barriers to accessing justice, Amnesty International (AI) asserted in a 113-page report released today. Justice Department figures indicate that American Indian and Alaska Native women are 2.5 times more likely to be raped or sexually assaulted than women in the United States in general; more than one in three Native women will be raped in their lifetimes.

No act should be funnded with racial or gender predjugdice in the title. We are supposed to be civilized yet we focus on gender and racial wars. Stats show woman and much more times more likely to attack their significant others then men. While an attack from a man can be more devastating the intent should be to protect citizens from violence period. VAWA and the minor good it does compared to how devastating it is to families in divorce isnt worth the paper its printed.

Wakeup people and get off the gender warfare or let the truth be heard. 80% of all men who rape from displaced anger were rasised by single mothers. Thus woman are rasing the rapists of tommorrow, GET A CLUE and fix the cause not the after affect. VAWA sets a deadly presidence that gets woman who are really at risk killed because of its benefits in false allegation in family court and the resulting mass usage of PFA’s. Paper protects noone, police presence does.. every american truely at risks deserve and officer assigned to them at critical times but we can’t do that because most allegations now are false and dont require evidence.

VAWA is for Custody Battles and gender bias not for the true protection of anyone.

    Fatherless Homes account for:
80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger. (Source: Criminal Justice & Behavior, Vol. 14, p. 403-26, 1978).

Ken, isn’t that a bit jumping to conclusions? Sure, there’s a correlation between single-mother-raised households and rapists growing up from those households. But is there any empirically tested explanation to this correlation? If there’s none, then we can’t really say for sure that it is the single mother that is the single responsible individual for raising a rapist. To do so would be irresponsible speculation, don’t you think?
