Filipino hostage released in Nigeria

12 June 2007 � Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria Masaranga R. Umpa reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Filipino seafarer seized by unnamed militants in Bayelsa State, Nigeria on 25 May 2007 was released on the evening of 11 June (Nigeria time) to Nigerian authorities and is now undergoing medical examinations.
