WALK OUT. Students from leading universities–the Ateneo de Davao, the University of Mindanao, the University of the Philippines-Mindanao and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USP)–trooped to the streets on Friday to protest what they refer as “commercialization” of education: the unabated increase of tuition fees both in the private and state universities. The students’ walk-out was staged simultaneously in different parts of Southern Mindanao. (davaotoday.com photos by Barry Ohaylan and Jonald Mahinay)

As an LFS activist during the my school days in Manila, isa kami sa nagtulak ng Magna Carta for students during that time. Panahon namin na naging libre ang high school education. At dahil sa libre na ang tuition ngayon sa high school, marami na ring ang bulakbol na estudyante.I hope these students who are now marching the streets will get their parent’s wish. to graduate. Good Luck kids
