Justice for their daughters

EVANGELINE HERNANDEZ, mother of slain human rights worker Benjaline ‘Beng’ Hernandez; and Evangeline Pitao, mother of 20-year old teacher Rebelyn Pitao, continue to seek justice for their daughters. They blamed the Arroyo government’s counter-insurgency program Oplan Bantay Laya for their daughters’ death. Beng Hernandez was killed in 2002 while conducting a research on human rights violations in Arakan Valley, North Cotabato.
