DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Council Committee on Peace and Public Safety plans to put up a livelihood training institute for drug suspects who surrender to the authorities.
Councilor Diosdado Mahipus, vice chairperson of the committee, said they will propose the project on next week’s regular session as this will help drug suspects’ rehabilitation.
Mahipus said drug personalities will be “trained and eventually be given responsibilities” after they surrender to the authorities. He added that livelihood trainings will be made accessible to them.
He said the center can also cater out of school youths.
Mahipus said the city government will manage the training center. Meanwhile, the private sector will be invited to partner with the project. (davaotoday.com)
