DAVAO CITY (4th Update)— Tropical depression “Domeng” has weakened and changed course due to a prevailing ridge of high pressure area across Luzon, the state weather bureau PAG-ASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In its 10 AM weather bulletin, PAG-ASA said the center of Tropical Depression “DOMENG” was estimated based on all available data spotted at 550 km East of Davao City with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center.

PAG-ASA forecasted that Domeng will move Northwest at 05 kph.

Tropical Depression “Domeng” is expected to be at 360 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur by tomorrow morning. By Thursday morning, it will be at 230 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and by Friday morning, it will be 190 km North Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The Department of Science and Technology’s Project NOAH said the change of Domeng’s track resulted in the change of predicted storm surge level in several parts of the country, mostly in the Visayas.

An estimated rainfall amount from 5.0 – 15.0 mm per hour (Moderate – Heavy) will be affecting the portions within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions.

Residents along Mindanao and the Visayas are advised to monitor weather conditions and alerts in the areas. (Mart D. Sambalud/davaotoday.com)
