DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Seven players of the Davao Aguilas Football Club will take part in the 29th Southeast Asian Games happening next week in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

The players include Junell Mark Bautista, Jaime Cheng, Raymart Cubon, Dylan Alain Lucienne De Bruycker, Van Rey Diaz, Jordan Blair Jarvis, and Richard Talaroc Jr. They are part of the Under-22 Philippine men’s football team who will represent the Philippines in the SEA Games which will be held from August 14-29. The team is coached by Marlon Maro.

The first match for the Philippine team will happen on August 15 as they compete against Cambodia at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium. The Philippines ​is ​in Group B along with Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam.

Here is the complete schedule of the match:

15 August 2017 – MP Selayang Stadium
8:45 PM – Cambodia vs Philippines

17 August 2017 – Shah Alam Stadium
8:45 PM – Indonesia vs Philippines

20 August 2017 – Shah Alam Stadium
8:45 PM – Philippines vs Vietnam

22 August 2017 – MP Selayang Stadium
4:00 PM – Philippines vs Thailand

24 August 2017 – UM Arena
4:00 PM – Timor Leste vs Philippines

In a press release on Saturday, DAFC Coach Gary Phillips said these are “very exciting times for Davao Aguilas FC.”

“We have seven representatives, that’s wonderful for our club. Obviously, we wish them all the best, we are confident that they will do well and represent Philippine football in a good way, and they are quality players, quality individuals. We are very excited for them and I’m sure they will do us proud,” Phillips said.

In preparation for the SEA Games, a football camp was also held in Japan, in cooperation with Japan Football Association.

The rest of the Davao Aguilas FC (DAFC) will also be in Kuala Lumpur to support the U-22 members of the club and for a training camp to prepare them for the resumption of their Philippine Football League matches.

The Davao Aguilas will have a match against Global Cebu FC on Sept. 9 in Tagum City, Davao del Norte province. (davaotoday.com)
