DAVAO CITY, Philippines – There were a few confiscations of prohibited items at cemeteries. However, the observance of All Saints’ Day here went generally peaceful, the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) reported Wednesday, November 1.

Police Chief Inspector Andrea Dela Cerna said there was no significant incident reported as of 2 pm.

The PRO 11, Dela Cerna said, established a total of 193 assistance hubs for police visibility and assistance in various cemeteries in Davao region. The assistance hubs were manned by 93 police officers and 901 non-commissioned officers in Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, Davao City, Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental.

There were also 210 road safety marshals assigned outside the cemeteries.

Motorists and commuters also felt a relatively easy traffic on Tuesday morning, October 31 after the Department of Public Works and Highways 11 (DPWH) completed its road clearing operations along a portion of the landslide prone are in the Carlos P. Garcia-Maa highway.
