Connectivity to bring investments, spur development in Samal

May. 11, 2017

DAVAO CITY – A top executive of one of the biggest land developers in the region expressed belief that a bridge that will connect the Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte to Davao City and the mainland Mindanao will spur developments in the island city.

Damosa Land Incorporated president Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo told reporters at the weekly Habi at Kape press conference at Abreeza Mall here that more investments will pour in Samal Island if it is connected to the mainland through a bridge.

DLI is among the land developers in Mindanao that are eyeing projects and investments in the island.

Lagdameo said DLI is set to open, through a groundbreaking ceremony its land and community development in IGACOS by the third or fourth quarter of this year.

“DLI’s Samal project will be a community and at the same time a commercial center. We are also planning to establish a hotel in the area,” he added.

The Samal community and commercial center will be established within a 12-hecare area in the island, Lagdameo said.

International awards

Lagdameo also told reporters of DLI’s latest achievement – the conferment of an international award last May 4.

He said that the company won top awards from the recently concluded 5th Annual PropertyGuru Philippines Property Award 2017.

The awarding was organized by the PropertyGuru Group, Asia’s leading online property group, he added.

He said that DLI earned the top spot for Best Residential Development in Davao for Damosa Fairlane.

Damosa Fairlane, DLI’s first venture into residential development, was also highly recommended for Best Residential Landscape Architectural Design during the event, he added.

Another DLI venture, the 6-towe condominium Seawind, was also bagged the Highly Commended Award under the Best Residential Development in Davao category.

Construction of the tower 3 of Seawind will start by June of this year, Lagdameo said. (davaotoday.com)
