UM Davao topped 2017 LET exam for HS

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Seven examinees from the University of Mindanao topped this year’s Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in secondary level or junior high school.

Of the seven, six examinees are from UM in Davao City and one examinee came from UM in Digos City, Davao del Sur.

Ranked number 1 for this year is examinee Marian Kaye Fortinez Gallego of UM-Davao City who got 92.80 percent rating.

Examinee Gerlie Tampos Albia from UM-Digos City is no. 5 with 91.40 percent rating; while two more UM-Davao City examinees tied for no. 6 post – Rosa Mae Asaytona Salazar and Chrestine Bariquit Torrejos who both got 91.20 ratings.

Three more UM-Davao City examinees landed in top 10: Leslae Kay Cataytay Mantilla with 91.00 percent rating in no. 7; Kristine Clarrisse Cabante Planas with 90.60 percent rating in no. 8; and Mark John Tayong Pepito with 90.40 percent rating in no. 9.

Examinees from two more Davao City schools landed in top 10 for this year’s LET exam for elementary level.

Tied in number 7 are examinees Kathleen Crystyl Noquiao Longakit of Holy Cross of Davao College and Jamaika Ann Sarigumba Serra of University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City who all got the rating of 88.00 percent.

The LET for 2017 was conducted last March by the Board of Professional Teachers of the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).

PRC said that 5,600 elementary teachers out of 53,915 examinees or 10.39 percent and 18,482 secondary teachers out of 72,584 examinees or 25.46 percent successfully passed this year’s LET.

The commission added that of the 5,600 elementary teacher passers, 2,871 are first timers and 2,729 are repeaters while in the secondary level, 10,804 passers are first timers and 7,678 are repeaters. (davaotoday.com)
