DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A private hospital here is set to fully operate its multimillion medical complex in October.

Dr. Noel Villanueva, medical director of the Davao Doctors Hospital (DDH) told reporters on Thursday, September 21, the operating facility is already 70 percent done.

The facility will be composed of eight “operating theaters” where three are already done and two will be finished within this week.

“The new operating room complex follows the international standard in terms of safety and quality not only for the patients but also for surgeons and nurses,” Villanueva said.

Each room is geared with specialized equipment for different surgical operations, he added.

Of the P400 million budget, about P140 million was allotted for the acquisition of various medical equipment, while P260 million was spent for construction.

“The quality of the new operating room will be five degrees higher than the previous one,” Villanueva said.

DDH chief executive officer and president Raymund CS. Del Val said DDH is the first hospital in Mindanao to procure most of the new and enhanced equipment.

This, Del Val said will enable DDH to be more capable of conducting surgeries and other medical procedures.

Despite the development, Villanueva assured that there will be no increase of charges for the medical operations.(davaotoday.com)
