DOH announces 3 more COVID-19 cases in Davao Region

DAVAO CITY, Philippines (UPDATED) – Three more person were confirmed for contracting coronavirus (Covid-19) in Davao Region, bringing the region’s case up to six, the Department of Health announced Monday.

DOH Davao Region identified the patients as PH442, a 28-year old male and PH443, a 33-year old male. Both have had a travel history from Manila, while PH444, a 50-year old male, has travel history from Manila, Palawan, and Cebu.

Health personnel are now conducting information-gathering and contact tracing to all persons who interacted and had been in close proximity to these patients.

On Sunday, the DOH Davao reported that a couple residing in Davao City are both positive for COVID-19. The two had traveled to Manila and arrived in Davao on March 6.

PH262 and PH263, both aged 47, are currently admitted at Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City, and are in stable condition, according to the DOH.

Meanwhile, PH130, the first confirmed person to have COVID-19 in Davao Region has tested negative to the virus and has already been discharged.

DOH-Davao Region also reported that as of 5pm on Monday, another patient under investigation (PUI) died, bringing the total of PUI deaths in the region to six. Two of which have already tested negative to COVID-19, while the confirmation results for the others are still pending.
