New healthcare facility opens in Tagum City

Aug. 08, 2019

TAGUM CITY, Philippines – The Mindanao Foundation for Medical Disaster Preparedness and Response Incorporated (MFMDPRI) opened its new three-story healthcare facility in Purok Bautista, Barangay Mankilam, this city on Thursday (Aug. 8).

“We aim to provide quality and equitable medical services, especially among indigent patients in Tagum and other neighboring provinces,” Marrion Adrian Solis, MFMDPRI hospital administrator, said.

Solis was with the hospital’s Board of Directors and officials of Tagum City and Davao del Norte province who graced the ceremony.

The hospital has an 18-bed capacity ward open to patients for admission, as well as a fully-equipped emergency room.

It currently offers minimum healthcare services including x-ray, ultrasound, and laboratories.

“This is just the start,” Solis said, adding that “in the next years, we plan to offer dialysis, traditional and Chinese medicine, and expand our room capacities.”

Affordable and wholistic services

MFMDPRI envisions to bring health services to the marginalized communities who are looking for the most affordable medical care.

“We’re working to be the cheapest hospital. I’m confident that patients can come here for medical care that’s not only affordable but also wholistic,” Solis said.

Apart from the facilities, the hospital plans to render medical services among poor communities.

Solis said they have their teams of health professionals that would reach out especially to far-flung communities in different provinces.
