TAGUM CITY—Tourists who are visiting here for the 2015 Palarong Pambansa have also found a way to explore the grandeur of Davao del Norte.

A group from Palawan is scheduled to visit New Corella to explore the Panas Eco-Cultural Park by trekking and boulder hopping.

Another group from Region 3 is set to explore Kapalong’s Okbot Cave, Suaon’s Nature Park and Tugtogonan waterfalls.

A delegation of 60 DepEd (Department of Education) national officials is also set to visit the pristine and white beaches of the Island Garden City of Samal.

Others are planning to visit Panabo’s Mariculture Park and Talaingod’s highland tour and cultural presentations.

Each tour package has at least a minimum of 10 persons and price for each package differs from one another.

“We have come up with a modified pricing just to accommodate them since our purpose is to showcase the treasures of Davao del Norte,”  said Leizel Rulite, administrative officer of Davao del Norte Tourism Office, in an interview Thursday.

She added that a DOT accredited shuttle service will transport the visitors and an accredited tourist guides will accompany them all throughout the duration of the tour.

“We are very happy that some groups have manifested their interest to avail our local tour packages. Having Palarong Pambansa in this province is a good chance to market and promote as well the different local tourism spots that our province can offer to them,” she said.

As of Thursday, more than 106 individuals from different regions have already booked at the Davao del Norte Tourism Office while some has yet to confirm their bookings until Friday, the closing day of the 2015 Palarong Pambansa.

Rulite said the province’s tourism office has offered them 11 local tour packages to choose from. “Actually, they can choose what tour packages they want to explore as these tour packages cover the 11 municipalities comprising the province of Davao del Norte.” (davaotoday.com)
