DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Hundreds of Dabawenyos occupied the Freedom Park here Friday to express their dismay for allowing former President Ferdinand Marcos to be buried at the Heroes’ Cemetery.
Students, church workers, teachers, Martial Law victims, and members of the militant groups marched along Roxas Ave. en route to C. Bangoy St.
Protesters were chanting “Marcos not a hero,” “Marcos, Hitler, Diktador, Tuta” to show their indignation against the High Tribunal’s ruling.
The protesters peacefully dispersed as the last speakers ended their speeches after lighting candles. (davaotoday.com)
