The consultation office, which is operating since April this year is currently located in Damosa IT Park in Lanang here, is the fourth office of Fujitsu Philippines Inc. and the first in Mindanao.

In a press briefing Friday, FPI CEO Raul Santiago III said the services for their Mindanao clients were previously catered by their office in Cebu City.

“But with the growing demands in the region, we are opening the new office to make our services even more efficient and closer to our customers, as well as to our future partners,” he said.

When they were choosing between Clark in Pampanga, Subic in Zambales and Davao City to put up the next office, Santiago said they saw Davao will be a better choice.

In an interview, Bel-Angelo Soriano, account manager for the Fujitsu’s Visayas Mindanao Business Unit, said they planned to put up an office in Davao City even before President Rodrigo Duterte won in the elections last year.

“It was was seen two years ago, because we saw the clients are growing,” Soriano told Davao Today.

Marketing Director Marge Valbuena added Fujitsu Philippines saw the city is fast becoming a big hub of businesses as lots of investors are looking at Davao.

Valbuena said “one of the enablers of the growth of business in Davao will be the ICT.” And although they are still undergoing a study on the Davao’s market, they are basing their projection of profit in Davao on their Cebu branch operations where they earn about P200 million annually.

FPI in Davao offers systems integration and provide end-to-end solutions “ranging from infrastructure and enterprise solutions, managed and application services.”

The facility is also seen as an opportunity for the next generation of IT professionals in Mindanao who are potential to lead the industry
