Teachers in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) have not been receiving their salaries on time, forcing many of them to hold demonstrations, such as this one in front of the Jolo municipal hall last Oct. 15. To this day, the teachers still haven’t received their pay, according to the Federation of Public Secondary and Elementary Teachers of Sulu and the Suara Bangsamoro, a Moro political group. They also urged the DepEd to remit their GSIS payments — which have not been remitted, according to them, in the last four years — and Pag-IBIG contributions.
