DAVAO CITY — Fourteen entries from all over Mindanao competed in this year’s Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan. The the entry from James L. Chiongbian National Trade School Performing Arts from Kiamba, Saranggani Province, emerged as the champion. They will receive P500,000 cash prize.

The entry from Laak-Kapatagan National High School in Laak, Compostela Valley won first runner-up and received P400,000; Purok Sison Elementary School Performing Arts Guild from Surallah, South Cotabato is second runner-up with P300,000; Kalingawan Dance Troupe from the Sto. Niño National High School in South Cotabato is third runner-up with 200,000; and, Sta. Ana Performing Arts Guild from Sta. Ana National High School here is fourth runner-up with P100,000.

Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan is a major event of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2016, which traditionally required participants to perform Kadayawan-inspired dances. This year, however, participants from all over Mindanao were encouraged to “bring their own festival” to Davao City. (davaotoday.com)
