DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Authorities arrested a pastor Monday morning, October 23, for allegedly carrying a firearm without legal papers.

Based on a police report here, Filmar Balngit Rodriguez, 36, was apprehended by Task Force Davao (TFD) personnel at a random checkpoint along Kilometer 11 in Sasa, this city, at 2 am on Monday.

The report said that TFD personnel confiscated from Balingit one unit of Colt MK IV.45 pistol with one magazine loaded with seven live ammunitions.

According to the report, Balingit is a resident of Butuan City, where he is a pastor of Oceans of Life Ministries Inc. Police said he was arrested for failing to present permits proving he had authority to carry firearms.
