Davao police gears up for Undas

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Police Regional Office 11 is now finalizing its plans for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on November 1 to 2.

Police Chief Inspector Andrea dela Cerna, spokesperson of the PRO11 said: “Police presence, security patrols and inspections shall be conducted in all major areas of convergence such as, terminals, airport, seaports, cemeteries, churches, resorts, vacation houses and all other areas at risk of hostile activities.”

“PRO11 will also coordinate with other LGUs, government agencies and other groups, to assist in addressing traffic congestion in major thoroughfares to ensure continuous flow of traffic,” she said.

The police will also conduct mobile checkpoints. Dela Cerna added that “Assistance Hubs” will be placed along major highways.

“Police Assistance Desks and Public Assistance Centers will also be established on a 24-hour basis to assist the public,” she said.

During the observance of Undas, the public is prohibited to bring bladed or deadly weapons and firearms in public and private cemeteries. (davaotoday.com)
