DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The Davao City Police Office received 14 brand new mobile vehicles from the city government of Davao on Monday, July 17.

In his speech, DCPO Director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said 12 of the new vehicles will be deployed to the 12 police stations in the city. The traffic group and the city’s Public Safety Company will also get one each. The 14 new vehicles roughly costs P21 million including the blinkers and publications.

The new mobile vehicles will serve as additional to more than 78 mobile patrol cars in the city.

“Definitely this will be an additional challenge and another force to push our police to do more to perform better because of the support coming from our city government,” Tagum said.

Tagum also thanked the local government unit for the support given to the office.

Tagum said told police officers that “it will be embarrassing if they don’t perform their duties properly” since Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has been very supportive to them.

In her message read by Assistant City Administrator for Operations, Atty. Lawrence Bantiding, Mayor Duterte said she “trust that with the new vehicles, the members of the receiving offices will be able to do their functions better.”

“These patrol vehicles will greatly help increase police visibility, enable you to coordinate among yourselves and with other law enforcement units more efficiently and allow you to respond to emergencies faster,” Duterte said.(davaotoday.com)
