DCPO: SOCO findings on Catalunan massacre out next week

May. 23, 2015

DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is yet to make an official statement on the massacre that claimed four lives as they are still waiting on the findings of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), DCPO Spokesperson Senior Inspector Milgrace Driz said on Saturday.

“It will possibly be out on Monday,” Driz said in a phone interview.

Driz said that the SOCO upon investigation found a suicide note which was allegedly written by Philip Sacro Salazar.

The suicide note says, “Wala na akong pag-asa. Pasensya na sa lahat, punong-puno ako ng kahihiyan, babalik ako! (I have no hope. I am sorry, I am full of shame. I will return!)”

“Karon naay mga ebidensya nakalap ang atoang Scene of the Crime Operatives and isa to sa mga ginalantaw nato na mga posibilidad, ang suicidal note nga nakita didto sa crime scene sa maong balay (The Scene of the Crime Operatives has gathered pieces of evidence, and one the possibilities we are looking into is the suicidal note that was recovered in the crime scene),” said Driz.

“Isa sa mga ginalantaw nato katong posibilidad nga kining si Philip Sacro nag-suicide kini tungod kay naa syay note na nabilin pero gitandi pa karon iyang handwriting specimen (We are looking into the possibility that Philip Sacro committed suicide considering that he has left a note but we are still comparing his handwriting specimen),” Driz added.

Driz also said that it appears that the knife embedded on the chest of Salazar was “self-inflicted”.

“Siya ang murag pinaka-last nga gidunggab or nagdunggab tungod kay fresh pa pud ang blood (It seems that he was the last one to be stabbed or stabbed because the blood is still fresh),” she said.

“Katong bata daw nagagamit og drugs, katong si Philip Sacro. So gipalawman pa nato atong investigation karon gani ginatan-aw pa nato unsa gyod ang tinuod nga motibo ug hinungdan niini (Philip Sacro allegedly uses drugs. So we are to deepen our investigation and we are still probing the real motive and reason of this),” she added.

The incident happened early Wednesday inside the house of the victims which is located at Block 7 lot 6, Residencia del Rio, Catalunan Pequeño.

The victims were identified as Ceasar Ann Sacro Omila, 12; grandmother Virginia Sacro, 58; Liezle Burongan, alias Inday, 12, a helper; and Philip Sacro Salazar who is now the person of interest.

The dead bodies were found by Ceasar Ann’s stepfather Ramon Curray at around 6:30 am after he arrived from work. (davaotoday.com)
