May. 21, 2015

DAVAO CITY – A group of barangay captains here organized “Run Duterte Run”, a fun run activity which aims to unite people to support Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s federalism campaign.

The activity will be held on May 23 at 4:30 am at Magsaysay Park and will end at Rizal Park.

The group is expecting not less than 4,000 participants coming from North Cotabato, South Cotabato. The business sector will also join the fun run.

Duterte for Federalism movement president, Barangay Captain Alimodin Usman of barangay 23-C said that the people from Mindanao agree with the program of the mayor.

We don’t have any problem here in Mindanao regarding the federalism campaign of the honorable mayor. I can say that 90 percent of the people here are in favor, from the LGU to the governors),” Usman said.

Usman also said that some cities in Luzon also favor the Federalism campaign of Duterte.

He added that they are doing their best to visit all the cities and municipalities to campaign for this program.

From religious groups and LGUs, we really endorsed the federalism campaign of our honorable mayor as this will raise our country Philippines and will stop this what they call conflict in Mindanao),” he said.

He also said that one of their objectives is to convince Duterte to run for president in the upcoming national election in 2016.

So mosamot og kagubot ang Pilipinas kun dili pud nato sila paminawon (We yearn to make federalism an alternative for BBL as what our honorable mayor said, because there are Christians and other provinces who would like to be separated. So the conflict in the Philippines will worsen if we don’t listen to them),” Usman said.

If our honorable mayor will become the president of the Philippines, this is really one of our endeavors, to make him the leader of the Philippines so that he can endorse federalism),” he added.

Usman also said that if federalism system will be implemented in the country, this will somehow avert the conflict and corruption in the Philippines. (davaotoday.com)
