Gov’t employee nabbed in drug buy-bust in Davao Occidental

TAGUM CITY, Philippines—Anti-narcotics agents from Davao Occidental and Davao del Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Office arrested a government employee during a drug buy bust on Thursday, November 15.

Naravy Duquiatan, officer-in-charge of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 11 (PDEA-11) identified the suspect as Artolo Fetalino, 39, a liaison officer of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Davao Occidental Chapter and a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Magsaysay in Davao del Sur province.

Fetalino was arrested around 4:40 pm in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Maria town after he was caught selling a sachet of shabu to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur buyer. Authorities recovered another small sachet of suspected shabu amounting to P2,000 from his possession

Fetalino is currently detained at the PDEA detention facility in Davao City and will be facing charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Duquiatan said that if Fetalino found guilty of such acts, the maximum penalty of the unlawful act shall be imposed, in addition to absolute perpetual disqualification from any public office. (davaotoday.com)
