In Davao Norte Forum, Capitol Bets Bare Platforms

Two of the three Gubernatorial candidates in the province of Davao del Norte bared their respective platform during the candidates forum held yesterday (April 26) at the ceremonial hall of the Davao del Norte Provincial capitol building.

Former provincial governor Rodolfo del Rosario and Carmen Municipal Mayor graced the said forum which was organized by the Commission on Elections provincial office and the Philippine Information Agency Davao Compostela Valley Information Center.

Re-electionist Governor Gelacio Yayong Gementiza who was also invited to the forum was noticeably absent in the affair as he to attend to pressing commitments in some parts of the province.

Del Rosario bared the continuation of the Minimum Basic Needs (MBN) approach to the province which would complement his macro and micro development programs. Among the projects he intend to pursue is the Bukidnon-Talaingod road and the Saug River project which aims to prevent flooding in the lowland areas.

Gaviola, a licensed physician, pledged to prioritize the provinces health services including providing emergency medical services or (EMS) particularly to the provinces tourism areas, he also pledged support to the police, strengthen the Public Attorneys Office (PAO) and improve the standard of education in Davao del Nortes public schools.

The two candidates also answered several queries from members of the Davao del Norte media with topics ranging from health, infrastructure, environment and politics. (PIA XI/RG Alama) davaotoday.com
