‘Not ISIS’: Lost son for 7 years lived with neighbor

Sep. 07, 2017

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines – After seven years, Rowhanisa Abdul Jabar heaved a sigh of relief that her missing son is alive and was not the child warrior that she found in the viral photo in social media.

However, it will not be an easy fight to get him back.

Jabar said when the story about her missing son, Azramie Magondacan was covered by the media, a person contacted her last Sunday, Sept. 3 saying he knows where her son is.

She then coordinated with the National Bureau of Investigation to go to the location and learned Azramie or Ram-ram was living with a family near the area where her cellphone store in Tutuban Mall in Manila is located.

“Tinanong ko anak ko, sabi niya nakakaakyat siya at nakakapunta daw siya palagi doon sa malapit sa area ko. Grabe talaga ang tadhana kung magbiro sa amin,” she said.

(I asked my son, he said, he frequently passes near my area. Sometimes the twist of fate can be so uncertain.)

But to get him back, Jabar has to comply all the requirements set by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and undergo a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) test.

The process is tedious as she and Ram-ram were forced to sleep at the DSWD office while completing all the requirements.

“There is no proper space for sleeping, we sleep on the floor and we’re prisoners,” she said.
But Jabar said there is nothing she will not do just to get back Ram-Ram again.

Ram-ram’s story went viral last week after pictures of children brandishing high powered firearms were posted on Facebook.

Jabar saw the photos of the kids and one of them looked like Ram-ram.

From Manila, Jabar flew back to Marawi City to verify the pictures from the military who previously said that there are indeed children trained by the terrorist in gun fighting.

Based on her affidavit, Jabar said Ram-Ram was kidnapped from her rented apartment while she was tending her store in Tutuban Mall in Divisoria, Manila.

The main suspect was her helper named Ula Arada who have been with her for only five months when the kidnapping happened.

Arada is now in jail but the alleged accomplices are at-large.

Jabar did not give any complete details on how Ram-Ram was adopted by the family he was with for seven years.(davaotoday.com)
