Sara leads HNP political bets in COC filing

DAVAO CITY , Philippines — Presidential daughter and Davao city mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio led the filing of the certificate of candidacy of the official candidates running under the Hugpong ng Pagbabag-Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HNP-HTP) Alliance on Monday, October 15.

Duterte-Carpio is seeking a reelection as Davao’s local chief executive. Her filing of COC has dismissed speculations that she might be running for a senatorial bid.

On Monday, she publicly endorsed the official candidates for elective positions in the city under the HNP-HTP Alliance.

Carpio’s brother, former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, had filed his COC as representative of Davao City 1stdistrict last October 12.

Vicente Garcia is seeking to be elected as representative for District II, and Isidro Ungab for District III, respectively.

Political hopefuls for District were incumbent Councilors Maria Belen Sunga-Acosta, Jesus Melchor Quitain Jr.,Edgar Ibuyan Jr.,Bonifacio Militar, Pilar Braga, and Nilo Abellera, Pamela Alonsabe Librado, Richard Duterte, Lyndon Diems Banzon.

For District II, incumbent councilors Danilo Dayanghirang, Dante Apostol, Halila Sudagar, and Diosdado Angelo Mahipus, Louie John Bonguyan, Ralph Abella, Florence Alejandre, Jonard Cascabel Dayap, Alain James Dureza, Augusto Javier Campos III, Richlyn Justol-Baguilod, Lyneth Dela Calzada, Roger Galido, Rene Estorpe, Constancio Suarez Tiongco, and Ma. Tisha Goldie Romarate Delvo.

And District III, incumbent councilors Jesus Joseph Zozobrado III, Antoinette Principe-Castrodes, Mary Joselle Villafuerte, and Conrado Baluran, Carmelo Clarion, Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz, Bai Hundra Cassandra Advincula, Alberto Ungab, Ramon Bargamento II, and Wilberto Echavez Al-ag.

The leadership of HNP is said to have chosen their candidate as running-mate of Duterte-Carpio.

Duterte-Carpio’s running-mate has yet to be named. She said the vice mayoral candidate will be later announced, probably on the last day of COC filing.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag, also announced yesterday that he will not be running participating in the 2019 midterm elections.(davaotoday.com)
