Crime victims urged to file charges Vs. suspects

Nov. 27, 2015

DAVAO CITY – The police here said victims of criminalities need to cooperate in the filing of charges against the  perpetrators.

“We urge the victims of criminality to come out because the police are willing and capable to help you through the due process,” said Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office.

In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Driz said there are incidents where victims have identified the suspects following a thorough investigation, but as investigators pursue, the victims tend not to show interest in pursuing the case anymore.

Driz cited particular incidents where the van of a cigarette company is frequently hit by robbers in the areas of Buhangin and Panacan.

She said the police have identified the perpetrators, but the victims who initially pointed at the suspects would no longer cooperate in the filing of appropriate charges to send the respondents to jail. (davaotoday.com)
