DAVAO CITY – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the local government unit is allocating more than P2.8-million to construct five footbridges in different far-flung sitios (villages) in Davao del Sur.
The DILG will allocate P2.5 million, while the local government will provide its counterpart of P325,000.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Municipal Engineer Haide dela Torre said the footbridges will be built at Sitio Labidangan in Barangay Upper Bala, Sitio Asinan in Barangay Balnate, Sitio Asbang-Elok in Bacungan, Barangay San Isidro and Barangay Tagaytay.
Mayor Arthur Davin said the construction of the footbridges will help hasten the transport of farmers’ produce and will provide a better access for school children. (davaotoday.com)
