Group calls Mar Roxas ‘sipsip’

Mar. 14, 2015

Labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) said the recent statements of Department of Interior  and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas on the report of the Board of Inquiry on the Mamasapano event showed that it is part of the government’s cover up on the accountability of the President Benigno Aquino III.

Roxas said the report showed that former PNP chief Alan Purisima, not President Aquino, is responsible for the operation.

Elmer Labog, KMU chairperson, said “with the statement, Roxas – who is sticking with Aquino amidst the crisis triggered by the Mamasapano incident in the hope of getting the president’s endorsement in the 2016 elections – is being a sipsip (sycophant) and is further diminishing his chances of becoming president.”

“Roxas’ defense of Aquino looks even more disgusting given the fact, shown by the BOI report that Aquino pushed for the Mamasapano operation in violation of the PNP chain of command which includes Roxas himself,” Labog said.

Labog also said that Aquino and Roxas are only further igniting the anger of the Filipino workers and people with their lies and attempts to deny justice to the 44 operatives of the PNP-SAF, 18 fighters of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, and five civilians who died because of the Mamasapano operation.
