LTFRB: P40 flag down rate remains

Jun. 23, 2016

DAVAO CITY – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced that the P40 flag down rate here in Davao will remain due to fuel price hike.

Virgilio Jebone, LTFRB representative said that the agency’s national office has ordered not to implement the reduction of the P40 flag down rate.

“When the fuel price increases, the Manila office gave us an order not to push the implementation of the calibration,” he said.

In Davao region, he said that it took them a long time to implement the reduced flag down rate in the area “because the fuel price already increased.”

Jebone said that from P40 of flag down rate, it was supposed to decrease to P30.

As of now, the LTFRB are settling to P40 flag down rate, but Jebone said there will still be P10 discount.

”Because of fuel (price) increases, the Manila office retained the flag down rate at P40,” Jebone said.

Meanwhile, as of June 21, oil companies cut back on fuel prices by P0.65 per liter for gasoline and diesel, and P0.45/liter for kerosene. (davaotoday.com)
