Power connections connected to the Calinan Substation experienced a 30-minute power interruption Tuesday noon.

According to Davao Light and Power Company, the emergency power interruption affected the areas from Mintal Public Market going to Tugbok, Calinan, Baguio District and areas along Davao-Bukidnon Highway.

DLPC said they needed to “transfer loads of the Calinan Substation from Don Ramon Aboitiz (DRA) Subtransmission Substation to Tagum line. This is to facilitate the corrective and upgrading works at Davao Light’s DRA Substation.”

On Monday, Davao Light’s subtransmission DRA Substation experienced an unscheduled shutdown due to a technical problem at around 6:24 in the evening.

The power interruption has affected residents of Tibungco, Bunawan, Panabo, Tadeco, San Vicente, Sto. Tomas and Calinan Substations that are connected to DRA.
