DAVAO CITY — Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo P. del Rosario turned over 10 units of motorcycles to the provincial police on Monday morning.
The turnover was done after the blessing in the presence of Davao del Norte 1st District Representative Antonio Rafael G. del Rosario and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Alex Roldan. Davao del Norte Provincial Police Office provincial director, Police Senior Superintendent Samuel Gadingan received the motorcycles in a simple ceremony held outside the Bulwagan ng Lalawigan.
In a Philippine Information Agency dispatch, Roldan said they bought the motorcycles due to high number killing incidents perpetrated by motor-riding criminals. He was referring to reports discussed during meetings of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC).
He cited such idea as a way of equipping the police of the same facility in pursuit of such criminals.
Gadingan said the motorcycle units are believed to “enhance efforts of the police to fulfill its role to ensure peace stability specially during the holding of the national elections.” (davaotoday.com)
