DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) suspended its classes Friday afternoon, September 30, after students and teachers reportedly received bomb threats through text message.
In a tweet, Ateneo President Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ said: “ADDU Classes in Jacinto Campus called off for the rest of the day. Stay away until all is checkd.”

The tweet was made at 2:43 pm on Friday.
John Espino, president of ADDU’s student council, advised the students to leave the campus “immediately.”
He said classes will be cancelled for the Senior High School, College and Graduate Schools.

Davao Today obtained a screenshot of the said threat. It said “A BOMB WILL EXPLODE TODAY AT ATENEO DE DAVAO. BEWARE”
The screenshot was sent by an ADDU faculty member who requested anonymity for security reasons. (davaotoday.com)
