DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Winners were announced in the recent mixed martial arts and kickboxing contest from all over Mindanao dubbed, Smoker Fight 10, which was held at the NCCC Kadayawan Hall last October 27.
Billed as “Earn Your Stripes”, the Edge MMA Davao City Chapter had a line-up of eleven fights which showcased the winning streak of Edward Manteza over Butuan’s Llorde Ray Yamit in the superweight match.
Dr. Vince Vicente, organizer of the Smoker Fights told Davao Today the Edge MMA Davao City chapter spearheaded the event in order to give amateur fighters exposure and ring time.

Fidel Ballesteros of the Beefit Pythons Pit went head to head with Dominille Eduave of CDO’s Team Mumma in a bantamweight match. Ballesteros forced Eduave to tap out in the first round, declaring the former as the victor.
In the main event of the evening, Edward Manteza and Llorde Ray Yamit were neck and neck in their face off. After three rounds, Yamit finally conceded to Manteza via submission.
Other events topbilled the following highlights: Allan Tenorio overpowered Jerry Virayo by TKO in the first round. Allan Trinidad forced Serg Jayson to tap out by a rear-naked choke. Fernando Piccio fast forwarded his victory over Flash Valcassas in a quick body slam and won by tap out in the first round.
Rudy Tacoque pinned down Orlimer Celeste and won by tap out in the first round. Sal Demicillo pummeled Richard Sanchez with a body slam in the first round. Lloyd Anthony Abucayan knocked out Al Adrian Antipasado after two rounds.
Ruben Lanasa triumphed over Israel Gomez in a unanimous decision by the judges. JP del Valle won over Eting Maslog by the judges’ unanimous decision.
Dr. Vicente later congratulated all of the fighters for their outstanding performances and thanked all the mixed martial arts enthusiasts who came out to see Smoker Fights 10.
