Labor group, Kilusang Mayo Uno (May First Movement) said it does not believe the US Embassy’s claim that the US government only had minimal involvement in the Mamasapano operation of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force last January 25.
The group is blaming the US government and President Benigno Aquino III for launching the operation which resulted to the death of the 44 PNP SAF, Moro Islamic Liberation Front fighters and civilians.
According to Elmer Labog, KMU chairperson, “the US government provided the so-called ‘actionable intelligence’ which prompted, designed and led the operation, dangled the S7-million reward for information regarding the operation’s targets, and supervised how the operation was carried out by the PNP-SAF.”
