DAVAO CITY – Two local publications here won recognition during the 19th Civic Journalism Community Press Awards presented by the Philippine Press Institute last May 15, 2015.
Edge Davao won the Best Edited Community Daily Newspaper in the Philippines
“Edge Davao is a paragon of high quality journalism, a local newspaper that combines, in seamless meld, high quality and community value,” Councilor Danilo C. Dayanghirang said Tuesday.
Edge Davao, edited by veteran community journalist Antonio Ajero, was also awarded as the Best in Environmental Reporting and Best in Culture, Arts and History Reporting.
Aside from Edge Davao, SunStar Davao was also awarded as Best in Economic and Business Reporting.
An achievement award was also given to Atty. Jesus G. Dureza, the columnist and publisher of the Mindanao Times. (Alyanna Marie E. Nono/davaotoday.com)
