Around a thousand students aspiring to continue their studies overseas gathered at IDP Education Philippines’ Study Abroad Expo 2015, held at the SMX Davao on October 13. The event was a great success, graced by a number of key speakers that included education experts, as well as representatives of some of the top universities abroad.
IDP, the leading provider of global education services and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exams in the country put together the expo which was open to everyone, to provide free counseling and seminar, and help students have access to great opportunities that studying abroad offers.
The seminars covered topics that gave the 200 attendees an overview of the processes that are involved in enrolling in universities in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, and the United States of America, from student visa processing, to choosing the country and the university, and getting into a program that suits their interests.
The Australian Trade Commission’s Education Manager Benjie Garcia gave out some helpful tips to students and talked about the future of students who are planning to enroll at universities in Australia. Students were all ears as the speaker gave them a glimpse of their future as international students.
An excellent roster of schools from different countries also participated in the expo, including University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, University of South Australia, Victoria University, Griffith University, AIH Higher Education. A total of 45 institutions participated in the event. This offered students a lot of options as they plan their future with some of IDP’s student counselors and consultants.
