DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Davao del Norte provincial governor Anthony G. Del Rosario is the new chairperson of the Regional Development Committee-Mindanao Area Committee.
Del Rosario was selected by the chairpersons of the five Regional Development Councils of Mindanao and the ARMM- Regional Economic and Development Planning Board during its reorganization meeting held last April 7.
RDC-MAC is the Mindanao arm of the NEDA Board-Regional Development Committee. Apart from Del Rosario, the reorganization meeting also selected other key officials of RDCom-MAC namely: RDC XII Chairperson Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera of General Santos City was selected as the Co-Chairperson of the RDCom-MAC.
Architect Michael T. Ang, a private Sector Representative of the Regional Development Council XII, was nominated as the Mindanao Regional Development expert to the Mother RD Committee. The RDCom-MAC is one of the three area committees of the NEDA Board Regional Development Committee.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Secretary Mercedita A. Sombilla of the NEDA, RDC IX Acting Chairperson Dir. Teresita Socorro C. Ramos, RDC-CARAGA Acting Chairperson Dir. Mylah Faye B. Cariño, RDC X Secretary Asst. Regional Director Mae Ester T. Guiamadel, Exec. Director Baintan Ampatuan of the ARMM-Regional Planning and Development Office, and RDC XI Vice-Chairperson Dir. Maria Lourdes D. Lim, Head of the RDCom-MAC Secretariat.
Meanwhile, the RDCom-MAC has also discussed the priority programs including the 75 major infrastructure projects intended for six regions in Mindanao which will be implemented in the next 6 years up to 2022. The total proposed cost of the project is P419.3 billion.(davaotoday.com)
