Labawan, a tribal leader in Paquibato district was killed by the New Peoples Army on July 6 for his alleged anti-Communist activities. Labawan was laid to rest on Thursday in Buhangin, Davao City. CHO confirms first case of Japanese encephalitis in Davao

The City Health Office has confirmed a case of Japanese encephalitis in Davao and warned the public of the viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes which can cause neurologic defects.
