Militants hit Duterte’s subservience to China as 29 ‘lopsided’ agreements signed

The militant Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) here denounced President Rodrigo Duterte for shamelessly bowing down to China as Prime Minister Xi Jinping visits the country to sign agreement on infrastructure including the joint oil and gas exploration between the Philippines and China in the disputed West Philippine Sea.

IACAT records 67 cases of human trafficking in Davao

There were 67 cases of human trafficking recorded in Davao region from January to September this year with one-year-old children among the victims of online exploitation, the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT-XI) said.

Monument to honor heroism of Datu Bago

The Davao City Culture and Arts Council is now accepting design proposals from local artists for a monument to be built in honor of Datu Bago. The monument is meant to recognize the heroism of Datu Bago in opposing colonial rule by defending the Davao against the Spanish colonizers.

Dynasties now own partylists

An election watchdog identified several party-list groups in the 2019 elections becoming an extension of political dynasties in many provinces and vested interests, saying it made it harder for party-list groups genuinely representing marginalized sectors to gain seats in Congress.
