This was the question of Kilusang Mayo Uno-Southern Mindanao Region Chair Romualdo Basilio following the accusations of Major Medel Aguilar of the 5th Civil Relations Group that the labor center was behind the closure of Davao International Transport Facilities, Inc (DITFI).

Millions of US dollars in funding are now being earmarked by the Asian Development Bank, the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), and the Australian Agency for International Development as governments from the four Eaga countries — Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines — try to revive interest in the economic subregion.
According to the host organizer, the Mindanao Business Council, the first to sign up for the trade exhibit is the Philippine Mining Development Corporation (PMDC) which is looking for joint venture partners for the development of its mining projects in Davao del Norte and Diwalwal in Compostela Valley Province.
A DTI official said the investment climate this year remains bright considering that many businesses are into expansion projects. The fact that these businesses are into opening up of new branches is an indication that the business climate is favorable, he said.

A Davao City councilor, Edgar Ibuyan, has filed a proposed ordinance that would regulate the practice by employers of putting out advertisements about the termination or separation from service of their employees. There have been complaints that these ads, which implies that the employee had committed a wrongdoing as reason for the separation, violate the rights of employees and destroy their credibility, thus reducing their chances of becoming employed in the future.
“By compromising national patrimony to the Dutch and allowing their companies full and unhampered access to Philippine natural resources, the Arroyo government was able to secure a deal with the Dutch government to go after Prof. Sison and the NDF in the Netherlands,” said Anakpawis Rep. Crispin Beltran.
