Mindanao is coal-fired power plants ‘new frontier’

MILLONDAGA Davao Today Anna Abad, Climate and Energy Campaigner of Greenpeace said that the country is “entering the age of coal.” Twelve more coal-fired power plants have been approved in the last two years under President Benigno Aquino III’s term. Six of these are located in Mindanao making the island a “new frontier” for coal-fired power plant projects.

Lawmaker supports call for massive installation of solar roofs

LOPEZ Davao Today Casiño filed House Bill 5405 or the One Million Solar Roofs Act of 2011 in October last year, saying it’s the State’s responsibility to “promote the utilization of renewable energy resources to reduce dependence on imported energy from fossil fuels.” The bill also takes into account public health and the environment.

RH Bill can help women fight breast cancer
