NPA releases another 4 prisoners in Surigao

The New People’s Army released another batch of prisoners of war in a village somewhere in Surigao del Norte province on Saturday, August 27 bringing to seven the total number of prisoners released by the rebel group coinciding with the successful first round of talks between the government and the National Democratic Front.

CPP, NPA ‘celebrates’ resumption of formal talks, declares 7-day unilateral ceasefire

The Communist Party of the Philippines and the National Operational Command of the New People’s Army issued a unilateral declaration of a seven-day ceasefire that will take effect starting Sunday, August 21.

NPA to release POWs as goodwill for peace talks

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines in Southern Mindanao Region today ordered for the release of two captive police officials in Davao Region as a goodwill measure for the resumption of the formal peace talks set on August 22.
